CMoR Art Classes October 2, 2008

Learn papermaking, drawing, watercolor and more in these 45-minute art classes.

Classes for 3 – 6 year-olds are offered every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. To view the class schedule, click here!

GRAND Opening Of CMoR Town Square October 4, 2008

Be the first to play in CMoR.s newest exhibit, the Town Square, featuring a car garage, TV station, hospital, grocery store and more!

The seven separate venues are based on iconic children.s museum exhibits. The CMoR Town Square will have a distinct Richmond feel, complete with a Seymour Monument. Other activities throughout the day include face painting, a moon bounce and balloon giveaways.

Magical Member Monday October 6, 2008 to October 28, 2008

CMoR Presents The Family Area At The Richmond Folk Festival October 11, 2008 to October 13, 2008

The Genworth Financial Family Area is presented through the coordination of the Children’s Museum of Richmond.

This special family-friendly area features a Family Stage, plus interactive craft and game areas. The Family Stage showcases talented performers from Richmond and beyond.

This year the theme is water in its many forms. You can sing sea shanties, build a miniature boat, and meet a ship-in-a-bottle-maker. From puppeteers to musicians of every type, come enjoy the various cultural traditions, crafts and games from around the world.

Toddler Time is a special program that takes place on the second Tuesday of each month.

Programs are designed for children ages 1 – 3 plus a special grown-up and incorporate elements of music, art, literacy and more.

Spooky Party October 25, 2008

A Halloween-inspired party starts with a costume parade led by Seymour the Dinosaur at 10:30 a.m.

Children and adults will also be invited to visit CMoR’s decorated Halloween Village and enjoy spooktacular music, art projects, games, and story readings.

Genworth Foundation's Halloween Hoopla October 31, 2008

Thanks to support from Genworth Foundation, Halloween is safe, fun, and FREE for kids at the Children’s Museum of Richmond’s 8th annual Halloween Hoopla.

Children can have an authentic Halloween experience trick-or-treating in our kid-size neighborhood consisting of six Fan-District-style houses complete with spooky decorations. Other activities will include Halloween art projects, pumpkin painting, and games. Adult admission tickets can be purchased at the Children’s Museum for $4 each.
